2021 Distinguished Clinician Award: Dr. Betsy Davis
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Betsy Davis with the 2021 Distinguished Clinician Award at the Annual Awards Ceremony during the 51st Annual Session of the ACP, held virtually Oct. 26-30, 2021. This award honors an individual for their outstanding clinical practice contributions to the welfare and advancement of the specialty of prosthodontics.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award and I share it with all the other nominees.” Dr. Davis said, “This award represents the College’s recognition of the role of maxillofacial prosthodontics within the medical environment and the College’s commitment to the care of head and neck cancer patients, the congenital/craniofacial patients, and the head and neck trauma patients. I thank the College for this prestigious award.”
Dr. Betsy Davis is the Medical Director of the Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Clinic and a Professor of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery, and Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
Dr. Davis is a cum laude graduate of Wofford College and received her DMD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She pursued graduate training in prosthodontics at the University of Iowa where she received her certification and master's degree in prosthodontics.
