2021 Private Practice Prosthodontist Award Northeast Region: Dr. Sam Kayat

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Sam Khayat with the 2021 Private Practice Prosthodontist Award for the Northeast Region of the ACP. This award is recognizes private practice prosthodontists who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the specialty of prosthodontics, through prosthodontic practice, enhancing the public’s understanding of the role of a private practice prosthodontist in comprehensive oral health care as well as exemplifying collegiality and cross discipline outreach, or exemplary community service.

“I feel very honored to be receiving this award. Being awarded by my peers means a lot to me,” said Dr. Khayat. “It encourages me to keep working hard with the College to promote our specialty of prosthodontics in our communities. It is becoming evident that during the past few years, the efforts of our organization have paid off in the general population’s awareness of our specialty. Thank you to all my colleagues, friends, and the College, for being part of this achievement.”

Dr. Khayat graduated from dental school in 2001. He then pursued his specialty training at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and earned his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics in 2004.

In 2007, he joined Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he ran the post-graduate program of Advanced Education in Esthetic Dentistry from 2008 until 2012. He owns a practice in Hingham, MA, where he works with his wife Dr. Laura Becerra who is a periodontist.
