The American College of Prosthodontists honored Dr. Thomas J. Salinas with the 2022 Distinguished Clinician Award at the Annual Awards & President's Dinner held at the 52nd Annual Session of the ACP on Nov. 4 in Austin, TX. This award honors an individual for their outstanding clinical practice contributions to the welfare and advancement of the specialty of prosthodontics.

“The effort from the ACP leadership and its members to promote the distinction of the specialty is constant and, although I have contributed to this effort in a relatively small way, I am humbled to be selected for this award.” Dr. Salinas said, “The dreams I had about my career path many years ago have come to realization with acquiring Fellow status, becoming involved with the ACP, contributing to the scientific literature, and now being recognized by my peers. I am truly blessed to be in my current roles and thankful to so many of my colleagues that have helped me in my formative years and also many that continue to support me.”

Dr. Thomas Salinas is Professor and Chair of Dental Specialties at the Mayo Clinic, where his time is dedicated to rehabilitation of patients with complex care needs. He received prosthodontic training at Louisiana State University Health Science Center and maxillofacial prosthetic fellowship from MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He served as program director for Advanced Prosthodontics Education at the Mayo clinic for 10 years and has been a member of the ACP for over 28 years.
