2022 ACP Educator of the Year Award

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Leila Jahangiri with the 2022 Educator of the Year Award at the Annual Awards & President's Dinner held at the 52nd Annual Session of the ACP on Nov. 4 in Austin, TX. This award honors dental educators for outstanding contributions to the welfare and advancement of the specialty of prosthodontics, overall achievement to academic dentistry, and contributions to the sciences and health professions.

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized by the ACP for the Educator of the Year Award.” Dr. Jahangiri said, “As a department chair, I have many responsibilities, the most important of which is the educational influence on the next generation of dentists and prosthodontists. To me, this award represents a heartfelt recognition of my passion for teaching, mentoring, and collaborating with other educators.”

Dr. Leila Jahangiri is the Ira E. Klein Professor and Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry since 2002. She completed her BDS from King's College, London and her Doctoral training certificate in prosthodontics, and Master of Medical Sciences degrees from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Jahangiri is a highly-committed educator who prides herself in having mentored over 250 dental students successfully becoming prosthodontists. Over her career she has received many awards, authored numerous publications, and has a substantial funding history.
