2022 ACP Junior Educator of the Year Award

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Patricia Swanson with the 2022 Junior Educator of the Year Award at the Annual Awards & President’s Dinner held at the 52nd Annual Session of the ACP on Nov. 4 in Austin, TX. This award is presented to a young junior dental educator who has made an impact in the field of prosthodontics.

“It is a great honor to be recognized, as I know there are many talented junior educators in the American College of Prosthodontists.” Dr. Swanson said, “I consider this award a reflection of the excellent mentorship I have received from the educators I had during my training, as well as my colleagues both locally and nationally. My greatest achievement as an educator will always be the success of my students, but I take great pride in being recognized by the College for this award of distinction.”

Dr. Patricia Swanson is the Director of Predoctoral Prosthodontics at Stony Brook University. She achieved her Doctor of Dental Surgery at University at Buffalo. She earned her certificate in prosthodontics from Stony Brook University and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2018. Dr. Swanson is a member of the Digital Dentistry Curriculum Committee for the ACP, and is a passionate educator in all settings, including continuing education courses, preclinical courses, and clinical patient care.
