2022 ACP President's Award

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Stephen I. Hudis with the 2022 President’s Award at the Annual Awards & President’s Dinner held at the 52nd Annual Session of the ACP on Nov. 4 in Austin, TX. This award acknowledges an individual’s service to the College that goes above and beyond what is expected.

Dr. Hudis was selected to receive the award by the 2021-2022 ACP President, Dr. Lars Bouma.

“Dr. Bouma, thank you for honoring me with the American College of Prosthodontists 2022 Annual Session President’s Award. I joined the college in 1980 as a resident at the New York College of Dentistry graduate program in prosthodontics. I have always considered the College to be family.” Dr. Hudis said, “That family has included most of my teachers and mentors; a wonderful group of friends and colleagues that I trained with and whose companionship I have enjoyed throughout my career. When asked, ‘What does receiving the President’s Award mean to me?’ I look at the wonderful, dedicated group of individuals that have received this award in the past and I feel honored to join this group. I accept this award with gratitude and humility for a career spent advocating for the College, our members, and prosthodontics.”

Dr. Stephen I. Hudis received a Bachelor of Music from The New England Conservatory of Music in 1975 and his DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 1979. He completed his GPR at Bellevue Hospital Center in 1980 and received his certificate in prosthodontics from NYUCD in 1982. Dr. Hudis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a Fellow and Past-President of the ACP He served as the Treasurer for the ACP Education Foundation and serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Prosthodontics. Currently, Dr. Hudis is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Department of Periodontics and Post-Graduate Prosthodontics, where he is also the Assistant Program Director for Post Graduate Prosthodontics. Dr. Hudis maintains a private practice in Princeton, NJ.
