2023 ACP Awards of Distinction

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored the recipients of the 2023 Awards of Distinction during the Annual Awards & President's Dinner held at the 53rd Annual Session of the ACP on Oct. 27 in San Diego. These awards honor individuals that have made significant contributions to the College and the specialty. 

The awards that were presented were:

Distinguished Researcher Award 
Recognizing outstanding contributions through original research, literature, teaching, or clinical applications.
2023 recipient: Dr. Konstantinos Chochlidakis

Distinguished Service Award
Recognizing outstanding service to the College and the characteristics of a true humanitarian
2023 recipient: Dr. Hiroshi Hirayama

Educator of the Year Award
Recognizing exceptional skills as a dental educator
2023 recipient: Dr. Avinash S. Bidra

Junior Educator of the Year Award 
Recognizing exceptional skills as a junior dental educator
2023 recipient: Dr. Akanksha Srivastava

Distinguished Clinician Award
Recognizing outstanding contributions to clinical dentistry 
2023 recipient: Dr. William C. Martin

Dental Technician Leadership Award
Recognizing outstanding service to prosthodontics and the dental laboratory profession
2023 recipient: Mr. Richard M. Lopez

Major General (Retired) Bill B. Lefler Federal Services Award
Recognizing excellence in leadership, patient care, mentorship, and service
2023 recipient: Col. Paul A. Longo

Private Practice Prosthodontist Award
Recognizing extraordinary collegiality, outreach, and community service
2023 Region 2 recipient: Dr. Elaine Torres-Melendez
2023 Region 5 recipient: Dr. James S. Emerson
2023 Region 7 recipient: Dr. Brett P Winnett

Dan Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognizing lifetime achievement
