2024 Eastern Region Private Practice Prosthodontist Award
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Sarit Kaplan with the Private Practice Prosthodontist Award for the Eastern Region of the ACP at the 2024 Annual Awards & President’s Dinner held at the 54th Annual Session of the ACP on Nov. 8 in Marco Island, FL. This award recognizes private practice prosthodontists who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the specialty of prosthodontics, through prosthodontic practice, enhancing the public’s understanding of the role of a private practice prosthodontist in comprehensive oral health care as well as exemplifying collegiality and cross discipline outreach, or exemplary community service.
"I owe this award to all the staff and doctors in my office, my patients and to my mentors." Dr. Kaplan said, "I always strive to treat my patients in the best way possible. I thank the ACP for this great honor."
Dr. Sarit Kaplan graduated from the prosthodontic program at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2000 following her graduation from Hadassah Dental School. She became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics while raising her two young children as a single parent, working in private practice, and teaching in the prosthodontics residency at the University of Maryland. She has been a very dedicated clinician to her patients as well as her students.
Dr. Kaplan volunteers treating patients pro-bono and volunteered chairing the dental services in a large local nursing home for years. She has served as the ACP Maryland Section President, and has served in leadership positions in several esteemed dental organizations. Dr. Kaplan is owner of the largest prosthodontic practice in Maryland, serving patients that come from all over the states and internationally.
