2024 Junior Educator of the Year Award
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Shivani Suvarna with the 2024 Junior Educator of the Year Award at the Annual Awards & President’s Dinner held at the 54th Annual Session of the ACP, on Nov. 8 in Marco Island, FL. This award recognizes exceptional skills as a junior dental educator.
"I am honored to receive the Junior Educator of the Year award." Dr. Suvarna said, "It signifies the immense joy I derive from interacting with bright, inquisitive young minds and guiding them as they develop into skilled clinicians. This award also reflects my gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with other talented professionals in the specialty and to learn from their expertise. Additionally, it highlights the invaluable support I've received from my mentors and the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), whose commitment to education and growth inspires me daily."
Dr. Shivani Suvarna is a distinguished board-certified prosthodontist, who served as a full-time faculty member at UConn School of Dental Medicine. She completed her residency training at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Suvarna is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. At UConn, Dr. Suvarna was extensively involved in teaching within the predoctoral prosthodontics curriculum and directed the RPD course. Dr. Suvarna is known for her innovative and student-centered approach to teaching, empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in prosthodontics. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has been instrumental in developing the digital implant curriculum at the school, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes. Dr. Suvarna currently is in full-time private practice in Bellingham, WA.
