ACP Board of Directors Meets in Massachusetts
The ACP Board of Directors met in Massachusetts for two days of discussions on the future of specialty practice. On Saturday, the Board reviewed and approved the framework for the ACP & ACPEF 2019-21 Strategic Plan, including priorities, goals, and milestone objectives. (Please see the spring issue of the ACP Messenger for a preliminary description.) Also examined were the roles of prosthodontists in efforts to improve collaboration among healthcare providers and the impact of Dental Support Organizations on specialists, as well as ways for the ACP to advance members' interests in these areas. Your input is welcomed.
Among the other topics of discussion were presentation of the scientific program for the 2019 Annual Session in Miami, which will be led by Dr. Carlo Ercoli as Program Chair; an update on the upcoming new edition of the Parameters of Care; approval of the 2018 Awards of Distinction; and review of several ACP position statements for continued accuracy and relevancy.
The Board of Directors was pleased to welcome two guests to observe the meeting: Dr. Akanksha Srivastava, a graduating resident at the University of Connecticut, and Dr. Miles Cone, a private practitioner in Maine and editor-in-chief of the ACP Messenger.
