ACP Hosts Dental Specialty Group Meeting
On Feb. 7, the ACP hosted a meeting of the Dental Specialty Group in Chicago. With representatives from all of the nine recognized specialties in attendance, this meeting was intended to foster collaboration among specialty organizations and advance mutual interests in specialty recognition.
Representatives from the ADA attended the open session to provide updates and receive questions on matters including advocacy for specialty recognition at the state level, proposed changes to commercial involvement in the CERP programs, and developments regarding dental licensure portability.
In the closed session, ACP President Dr. Nadim Baba moderated discussions on issues including actions before the National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards, proposals for joint communications from the specialties to various governing bodies, and other areas for potential collaboration among organizations.
