3D Printing in Dentistry Today

Presenting a look at 3D printing technology, where it started, and how it is utilized in the wide range of dental offices and laboratories. This session will demonstrate how the 3D printed part is affected from scanning through manufacturing, challenges associated with 3D printing, and how to produce a prosthesis that is cleared for use in patient treatment.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Identify and describe 3D printing technologies.
- Summarize the equipment necessary for a digital workflow.
- Recognize common compliance issues in 3D printing.
Biography: Adrienne Slevin is 3D Systems' Dental Applications Engineer. Previously Director of Education and Technology at DAL, Inc. and lead CAD trainer for DT Technologies. She was a technician in a full-service laboratory for 16 years and has used CAD/CAM technology for 13 years. A certified trainer in clinical and laboratory digital equipment and software, she has helped over 150 laboratories and 55 dental offices become successful using digital equipment. She is a CAD/CAM expert with extensive experience and certifications in the industry’s leading laboratory and chairside workflows.
