Digital Workflow Surgical Failures
Luiz H. Gonzaga, DDS, MS
University of Florida
Friday, Nov. 4
9:30 - 10:10 a.m. CT
This presentation will focus on multiple aspects that lead to complications during surgery when using the digital workflow. Computer guided surgery and restricted guides can be very accurate but discrepancies between virtual plan and final surgical results are well documented in the literature. This presentation will highlight reasons why complications occur and how they could be avoided.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Review the literature on digital complications.
- Recognize virtual mistakes and operator error.
- Discuss key points that can help the clinician minimize such complications.
