U.S. Air Force Residents, Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellow, and faculty will present patient treatment outcomes based on applying classic prosthodontic principles to the latest technology implemented in the program, including digital jaw motion tracking, dynamically navigated implant surgery, and prostheses fabricated via CAD/CAM.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Describe preservation of mutually protected articulation in a digital workflow.
- Correlate jaw motion tracking with functionally generated path technique.
- Compare dynamic navigation to other methods of implant guidance.
Biography: Dr. Casey D. Goss currently is a senior (class of 2023) in the USAF Prosthodontics Residency Program, Air Force Postgraduate Dental School, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX. Dr. Goss received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Nova Southeastern University in 2015. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine, in 2019.
Biography: Dr. Daniel C. Lee Jr. is currently a senior (class of 2023) in the USAF Prosthodontics Residency Program, Air Force Postgraduate Dental School, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX. Dr. Lee received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2018. He went on to receive a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the United States Air Force Academy in 2019.
Biography: Dr. Alyssa-Joy Oviatt is a faculty member of the AEGD-2 Residency Program at the Air Force Postgraduate Dental School, JBSA-Lackland, TX. Dr. Oviatt graduated from Northwest Vista College and Our Lady of the Lake University, studying 3D Graphics and Visualization, and Biology. She earned her DDS degree with a Certificate in Dental Education from UTHSC San Antonio School of Dentistry in 2018, and her certificate in Prosthodontics and M.S. in Oral Biology from USUHS in 2022.
Biography: Dr. Joshua A. Vess currently is a fellow in the USAF Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellowship, San Antonio, TX. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2006, and during his time in the Air Force has completed an AEGD-1, AEGD-2, and MPH; and earned a Prosthodontics Certificate and M.S. from USUHS in 2020. He has served as a clinical dentist, Flight Commander, AEGD-2 faculty, and an International Health Specialist Division Chief throughout the U.S. and in the U.K.
