Graftless Solutions: Myths and Realities

Graftless solutions to treat the edentulous patient have become mainstream in the dental world. The advantages of this treatment is speed, the reduction of surgical procedures, and the ability to provide the patient with fixed permanent teeth the very same day. There are many misconceptions related to this procedure, which may result in a compromised result. The purpose of this course is to critically review the All-on-4™ protocol, and present solutions to the misconceptions that exist.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Provide rationale for alveolectomy and the decision-making process of when to reduce bone.
- Discuss the scientific evidence for implant occlusion in full-arch reconstruction.
- Identify the biomechanics of prosthesis design.
Biography: Dr. Saj Jivraj completed his dental degree at the University of Manchester in England and his advanced prosthodontic training at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He is the former Chairman Section of Fixed Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He currently holds a Faculty Position as an Associate Clinical Professor at the USC School of Dentistry, and Clinical teacher at the Eastmann Dental institute in London. He maintains a private practice limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry in Oxnard, CA and has published numerous articles and authored textbooks.
