In this program, the speaker presents updates in real-world clinical scanning strategies and using CAD/CAM materials to facilitate full-arch cases. Emphasis will be placed on edentulous and implant cases and how desktop 3D printing and milling can provide the prosthodontist incredible opportunities for case control, production, and efficiency.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Identify the role of intraoral scanning and edentulous strategies.
- Recognize the use of various desktop 3D printing technologies, materials, and resins for use in a prosthodontic practice.
- Describe clinical and laboratory studies and evidence-based approaches to use of CAD/CAM technology in prosthodontic practice.
Biography: Dr. Michael Scherer serves as the Chief Clinical Officer for Zest Dental Solutions, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loma Linda University, a Clinical Instructor at University of Nevada – Las Vegas, and maintains a successful practice limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry in Sonora, CA. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Board of Oral Implantology. He has published numerous articles, books, and in-person and online courses related to implant dentistry, clinical prosthodontics, and digital technology with a special emphasis on full-arch reconstruction.
