Toronto Conference of 1982

'Osseointegration in Clinical Dentistry' was the name of the historical conference that took place in Toronto, Canada on May 9-11, 1982. The conference, organized by Prosthodontist Dr. George Zarb, was the first of its kind where prosthodontists and oral surgeons from all dental schools across North America were invited to participate to learn about the seminal research of PI Brånemark, and its direct impact on patients. Brånemark had been systematically collecting clinical outcomes data on dental implants since 1965 and presented his detailed findings to the large audience who were largely shocked and energized.
