Proposed Bylaws Amendments Open for Comment
The ACP Board of Directors has approved the proposed bylaws amendments forwarded by the Judicial Committee and the Governance Review Task Force. ACP bylaws state:
“Upon approval by the BOD, the BOD shall announce proposed bylaws amendments to the membership at least 60 days in advance of a vote to Active Members, Active Fellows, International Members, International Fellows and Residents. The vote shall be by written ballot, which may be distributed by any method permitted by applicable law. The amendments may be adopted by a majority vote of Active Members, Active Fellows, International Members, International Fellows and Residents casting ballots. A minimum number of ballots shall be 10% of the Active Members, Active Fellows, International Members, International Fellows and Residents.“ – ARTICLE XIII, Section 13.1.
All members are encouraged to read the list of proposed amendments. A copy with track changes is available for review, as is a version of the bylaws with the accepted proposed amendments. The bylaws have been reviewed by ACP legal counsel. Please read the bylaws and send any comments or questions by Aug. 30. Voting on the bylaws will open on Sept. 30.
