Academy of Osseointegration

Osseointegration Foundation Research Grant

Four research grant awards (two basic science and two applied science) will be awarded annually to individuals who are a: (1) member of the Academy of Osseointegration; or (2) faculty member or student conducting the research in any academic dental institution (at least one of the team members must be a member of the Academy of Osseointegration).

American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry

Grant for Research in Esthetic Dentistry

The purpose of the AAED Grant for Research in Esthetic Dentistry is to promote meaningful research in esthetic dentistry through the funding of one grant to be awarded annually. Those eligible include graduate students or non-tenured faculty at the instructor or assistant professor levels at accredited dental schools. The focus of the research must be within the scope of esthetic dentistry, but can be from virtually any academic discipline (e.g., Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, etc.).

American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics

Stanley Tylman Research Grant

The AAFP supports postdoctoral student research in fixed prosthodontics through the Stanley D. Tylman Research Program. Research areas significant to the clinical practice of fixed prosthodontics are supported. Student must be enrolled full-time in a postgraduate educational program. Priority for funding of grants and awards will be given to students in prosthodontic programs. Predoctoral dental students are not eligible. First or second year prosthodontic students may apply. Third year prosthodontic students are not eligible. Proposals must be endorsed by the program director of an accredited prosthodontic program. Tylman Research Grant recipients will be eligible for Tylman Award competition upon the completion of the project and submission of the manuscript. AAFP will present cash awards to the student authors of these manuscripts. All 3 recipients of the awards are offered funding for travel and lodging for 2 nights at the AAFP annual meeting hotel to present the results of their studies.

American Academy of Implant Dentistry

AAID Research Grants & Student Research Grants

The AAIDF Research Grants Program is intended to provide limited support for meritorious dental implant research projects which include, but are not limited to, the following purposes: to conduct research which determines the feasibility of a larger research project, to develop and test new techniques and procedures, to carry out a small clinical or animal research project, and to analyze existing data. The AAIDF Student Research Grants Program is open to all dental students and those in postgraduate residency programs.

Submission Deadlines: August 1 for Research Grants, May 1 for Student Research Grants
Grant Amount: Up to $25,000 (Research Grants); Up to $2,500 (Student Research Grants)

American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics

AAMP Poster Competition 

The Poster Competition is held every year at the AAMP annual meeting and is restricted to those conference delegates who are currently AAMP Student Members. The presentation may be either a controlled research study or clinical case report. There will be three awards presented.

American Equilibration Society

AES Research Grant

Research support for basic science studies with reasonable clinical relevance and clinical research related to the multiple dynamic interactive components affecting pathology, dysfunction, and/or diseases of the masticatory system. Support is for individuals engaged in clinical practice, academics, or post-graduate education.

Grant Amount: $20,000

American Prosthodontic Society

APS Graduate Research Award 

Recognizes excellence in research and oral presentation. All applicants must be enrolled in full-time postgraduate educational program and research must be clinically significant. A manuscript is also required to be submitted to the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.

Award Amount: 1st place – $1,500; 2nd place – $1,000; 3rd place $500

Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics

GNYAP Student Research Grant Program 

GNYAP offers grants to support students enrolled in accredited advanced specialty education programs in prosthodontics. The goal is to provide an organized and meaningful research experience for students under the guidance of an experienced faculty mentor. Funded grants will offer contributions to the body of knowledge encompassing prosthodontics.

Grant Amount: Up to $5,000 per grant (up to 5 annually)

International Team of Implantology

André Schroeder Research Prizes 

The ITI awards two André Schroeder Research prizes annually for original research in the fields of implant dentistry and oral tissue regeneration: The André Schroeder Prize for Preclinical Research and The André Schroeder Prize for Clinical Research. Only original research papers will be considered.

ITI Research Grant 

Twice a year, the ITI Foundation supports preclinical and clinical research in implant dentistry and related fields through its Research Committee. The ITI's goal in funding research projects is to have their results published in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal. Grants are normally only awarded to applicants who are affiliated with a university/an academic institution. As a general policy, research grant money is only transferred to university accounts.

Submission Deadline: February 27 & August 31

Northeastern Gnathological Society Academy of Multidisciplinary Dentistry

NGS Granger-Pruden Award

An annual award is given to support research in prosthodontics and related materials science. The purpose is to encourage postgraduate students to engage in dental research. It may be awarded for a research proposal or a completed research project.

Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics

PCSP Graduate Research Award

Recognizes excellence in research and oral presentations. Graduate prosthodontic residents at UCLA, Loma Linda University, UCSF, University of Washington, Veterans Administration at Los Angeles, USC, University of Alberta, and the University of British Columbia qualify for acceptance. Oral presentations of 10 minutes can range from a topic of original research to a clinical/technique paper to a literature review.  Submission Deadline: March 15
 

Award Amount: 1st place: $1,500; 2nd place: $1,000; 3rd place: $500 plus travel expenses

Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry

SCAD VITA Award for Excellence in Research

SCAD has established the VITA Award for excellence in research related to color and appearance in esthetic dentistry. Three categories of US/international applicants are eligible for the awards: predoctoral students, graduate students, and non-tenured junior faculty. The focus of the research must be within the scope of color and appearance esthetic dentistry. In return for having been awarded an SCAD VITA Award, recipients must agree to present their research in a poster session of the SCAD annual meeting.

Award Amount: $1,500 in each of the categories

Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics

SEAOP Educational Grants

Multiple educational grants are available to 3rd year prosthodontic graduate program students attending universities in the southeastern United States who plan to practice prosthodontics in the Southeast.
