Prosthodontist on Radio Discussing eScooter Injuries

KCBS_Don_Curtis

ACP member Dr. Don Curtis was recently interviewed by KCBS Radio Morning News, out of San Francisco, discussing the potential dental risks of riding electric scooters.

In recent months companies have started renting out eScooters to pedestrians as an alternative to public transportation or walking. While this may be a convenient option, Dr. Curtis warns that the speed and acceleration of the devices, combined with cracks and uneven roadways, are resulting in accidents and facial injuries.

"What we see here at UCSF is an increasing incidence of people coming in with e-scooter-related trauma to the mid-face," Curtis told KCBS Radio reporter Holly Quan. The interview is available online.
