#ProsthodontistChallenge to Raise Awareness
To help raise awareness of prosthodontics to predoctoral students, other dental professionals, and the public, members of the NPAW subcommittee are challenging current prosthodontists and prosthodontic residents to take the #ProsthodontistChallenge.
Started by Dr. Constantine Stavrinoudis and his co-residents at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (pictured), the challenge asks you to promote what a prosthodontist is and does, and then challenge others to do the same by tagging them on social media.
To accomplish this you could set up a lecture at your dental school, offer mentorship, discuss what it is like to go into specialty training after graduation, highlight some of your favorite cases on social media, and much more. Dr. Stavrinoudis has already set up a visit to his alma mater to share about prosthodontics and the prosthodontic resident experience.
If you are not able to hold an in-person event during the week of NPAW, don’t worry! You can spread awareness of prosthodontics anytime of the year and post your activity with the hashtag #ProsthodontistChallenge and #NPAW2020.
