Research Fellowship Spotlight
The ACP Education Foundation is committed to assisting the dental profession in its quest for continuous improvement in clinical care. Each fall, the Foundation awards research fellowship grants to support meritorious research proposals that seek to advance basic scientific and applied clinical knowledge in the area of prosthodontics.
Dr. Ahmed Mahrous had this to say about how an ACPEF fellowship grant affected his career:
"My project was ambitious and with no funding, I was in dire need of funding and applied to the ACPEF. It was a very happy day when I received the grant. Receiving the Research Fellowship has made it possible for me to complete my clinical trial. In fact, it has allowed me to complete my residency, because without the Fellowship I would have probably been delayed.
"I am now an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and my focus is teaching, patient care, and research."
