The ACP reaffirms our stance against all forms of racism, xenophobia, injustice, and hate

Dear Colleagues,

As President of the American College of Prosthodontists, I want to reaffirm that we have always and continue to welcome, support, and embrace all our members. We stand firmly against and condemn all forms of racism, xenophobia, injustice, and hate.

Over the past year, the world has experienced social unrest throughout our country that if left unchecked will divide us all. The events of 2020 have been eloquently addressed by Immediate Past President Hudis and these events continue to plague our nation to this day. Most recently, the rise in acts of hate toward members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community is staggering. Although the horrific attack in Atlanta may not have been officially deemed racially motivated, this event has highlighted the violence against the Asian community in the United States and further deepened the wounds of this community.

While we are still in the midst of one of the greatest health crises of our lifetime, we are once again forced to face the reality of discrimination and hate on so many levels that is also afflicting our communities and countries.

I speak on behalf of our Prosthodontic Forum organizations listed below, joining together as a unified prosthodontic community to always speak out against all forms of violence, discrimination, xenophobia, racism, hate and harassment as we have in the past.

We, as prosthodontists, come together in solidarity and stand firm in our support of all individuals regardless of race, gender, country of origin, sexual orientation, and regardless of religious or political belief.

Best Regards,

Dr. Mark. C. Hutten
