Watch: Digital Dentistry Curriculum Implementation at Rutgers

In this video, Dr. Heba Elkassaby discusses her committee's efforts to integrate digital dentistry into curricula school-wide. They worked in phases, starting with a business plan and SWOT analysis, moving to renovation of their digital laboratory and strategies for training of students and faculty, and culminating in a finely-tuned workflow and quality assurance process.

"We would ask one faculty to train three students only, and then each student would train their classmate," says Dr. Elkassaby (excerpt). "The feedback from this model was really interesting because the students mentioned that, when you learn a technique, and then you teach it to another classmate, you learn more."

The ACP and ACPEF are excited to share access to the Digital Dentistry Curriculum for use in your dental school. This curriculum is supplemented by an extensive library of content, learning materials, and support for the implementation process, including the new e-book Fundamentals of CAD-CAM Dentistry.

We encourage you to access the curriculum and then engage with your school leadership as we work together to expand digital dentistry within the prosthodontic community and beyond.

The Digital Dentistry Curriculum Initiative would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of the Curriculum Task Force and team, pilot school mentors and leadership, and an educational grant provided by Henry Schein and its supplier partners 3Shape, BioHorizons, Camlog, Glidewell Laboratories, and Planmeca.

Your support of the ACPEF is essential to this and other initiatives designed to support education, research, and other opportunities for growth in prosthodontics.
